Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi, was admitted in Apollo Hospital at midnight with heart problem. Dasmunshi who was taken ill while travelling to his constituency Raigunj in north Dinajpur district, is being flown to Kolkata instead of New Delhi for treatment since the distance of Kolkata from Raijung is much nearer.
Dasmunshi was brought in a airforce plane in Dum Dum Airport from where he was taken in the ambulance. Primarily he was admitted in the Raijung Hospital where his EGG has been done. After that the doctors thought it would be better to shift him to some better hospital.
The 62-year-old minister was taken ill while travelling to Raigunj, his constituency, from Malda to attendant the selection of Municipality Chairman of Raijung which Congress won this time in the Municipality election.
In the Apollo Hospital a special team has been made under the guidance of Dr Tirthankar Choudhury, Cardiologist along with him Dr Robin Chakroborty, Dr Sisadri forming the medial board. Deepa Dasmunshi, wife of Priyaranjan was also along with him throughout the way to the hospital.
Subhrata Mukherjee, Congress leader said, “Dasmunshi was in a stable condition. He was adited in the hospital and the doctors already started their work. He was in a drowsy state due to the medicine which was given to him from the Raijung Hospital”.
Among the other leaders Abdul Mannan and other local Congress supporters are present in the hospital.
From Doctors desk it has been informed after angeoplast that Dasmunshi was better now. He is in a stable condition.
